Motion Pro Armor Coat cables (or Barnett)
« on: October 26, 2015, 03:23:00 AM »
Has anyone ordered custom cables from Motion Pro in the Armor Coat housing? Looks like a complete set (throttle, clutch, speedo, tac)would be $353.00. I have somewhat lower bars and would like the throttle and clutch a tad shorter which they will do for free. Dan

My (new) motion pro clutch cable broke and stranded me.
I'll save $250+ and stick to OEM Honda cables.

that's odd. Of all the parts to break I didn't expect a steel cable  ???

Did the cable snap, or did one of the fittings break off?

The fitting came off the end at the control.
Luckily I kept my OEM cable.  I'm still using it today.

+1 to the suggestion from Flybox. I'll weigh in too regarding the unreliable quality control by MotionPro. I had ordered new throttle cables for my 550 and had to grind off part of the mounting bracket on the carb rack to get one to fit.

I've got the cheap ones think I paid $15 for clutch ome cable on Amazon, It works ok.
I wanted to get there custom length ones because I have clip ons. But I just don't understand the price something like $100 just for you to cut them for me. Seems a little crazy.

I really wanted the stainless braided cables. I thought for the money involved they would be like top quality. Dan

They were great, the nylon lined were so smooth..
However when I last checked, I think they may no longer make them..

I had motion to push and pull cables. The metal rusted extremely fast. I now have NOS OEMs cable. Much nicer IMO

754, please go to the Barnett website. Looks to me like they still have what you refer to and do make custom cables. Dan

I see the custom builds section , but the search for CB750 only brings up DOHC.

If i ever run across an old barnett catalog, i will try to get the part numbers.. They probably still have the build info for stock lengths..

I have superbars on my K4 so I ordered Euro spec cables from DSS and they are a perfect fit.
