Good to see so many younger guys involved  :)  I belong to the VJMC and several of us were talking at a recent event about how this hobby is kinda going away as the baby boomers get tired of working on these things, but such is not the case!!

I was 14 when my 76 550s were built, just old enough to drool but too young to buy.

I'll be 45 next month.  (Live about 40 minutes N of Seattle.  Born and raised here)
Waited till all the 'reckless' was out of my blood before I bought my first bike (350F) back in 2008.
It was was too small for me, but I loved it.  Sold it to fund my 750K8/F3
Was gifted an XS400 yami along the way.  Gave it away.  I'd love to get a VFR at some point.
I'm always on the lookout for a smaller displacement CB/CL to revive for my oldest son (12).
I have 4 kids, and they all enjoy riding with me.

So that's who really fixed your transmission, eh? ;)

31. Been riding all types of little bikes since I was 6 or 7. Stopped after my moped adventures around the age of 15. Then, at 23 bought my Buell, and sold it after finding my 77 550.

I'm 24 too and recently got my first bike, a 1978 cb750 k. It's fun to ride and needed/needs a lot of work. Great beginner bike since it requires a lot of learning to keep it running and it handles great too.

I'm 49 and my name is Ron.  I rode dirt bikes growing up but never rode on the street.

In August of last year (2014), my son Logan decided that he wanted to restore a motorcycle for his senior project in high school.  We found a 78 CB750K on Craigslist for $500 about an hour and a half from here up in the north Georgia mountains.

Logan and I worked about 7 or 8 months on it and finally got it running and riding in late April of this year.  It was rideable from May until August but I only rode it on 3 different shake-out rides because I wanted to set the example with my sons that you don't ride until you pass the MSF class.  Once I did that in August, I've been riding her every chance I get since then.

Now, I'm working on making a CB500 cafe bike that will be sold to pay for the CB550 cafe that will be Logan's bike.

Age 39. I've had my 78 CB550 for about 10 years. Rebuilt the engine several years ago. I currently have the bike fully torn down to the frame, rebuilding the top end and then the "putting it back together" will commence.

I'm 58. Got my Honda CB 750K 5 years ago after selling my 1985 BMWR80GS.

Started when I was 17 a Triumph Sports Cub Kitset.. Dad bought a pile of boxes home. My Brother and I got them up and running..  We have both been riding ever since. In fact he still has them…

First Bike I bought myself a 1972 Suzuki T350
Then these
Kawasaki S3 350
Honda XL250 Motorsport
Yamaha SR 500
Yamaha XV1000RH
Honda CBX 550F
BMW R80 GS
Honda CB 550K owned for 6 Months while I was in the UK Does PMF 240R still exist?

Yamaha IT 465H
Yamaha AG 175
Yamaha DT 175
Handa XR500A
Suzuki TM125
Yamaha SR500 in a TZR250 Frame (Road race bike)

I have also got to ride lots of stuff over the years, some stand out more than others for various reasons
Good
CB400F Suzuki GS750 (the original one) VF1000R and VF1000F Yamaha RD350
Yamaha FZ750 Yamaha TT500's. 1969 Triumph T120R, BSA A65 BSA 441 Victor
Not so much
Suzuki GT380 and 550

The first time I rode a CB750 I was not that impressed.. didnt go round corners like my T350 did..  :D Now I know better

A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750.

29, got a 78cb750f parts bike from buddy for free. Lol. He said if I was going to do something with it I could take it. 2 years later and lots of lessons (still learning a ton) I have had it out on a few shakedown rides. Diagnosing some charging issues now. Rookie on road bikes. Learned to ride on an 81 xr80. Mom sold it when I was in college, for 100 bucks!!!!! Was running and everything. Still bitter. Lol.

In the summers when they cut our alfalfa, my brother and sister and I Used to tie a snow sled behind it and do some grass laps pulling each other in the sled! Had a figure 8 matted in the field. So fun! Pure Michigan!

Anywho here is a crappy photo of the bike

I'm 25. Grew up riding a Trail 70 around my parents from about age 10. First real bike was an 81 Yamaha XJ 550 when I was 21. Been hooked ever since! Glad to see other guys on here around my age as well.

Yes , and now some of us are older than it. :)
I started out on enduro bikes The motox races were still done outdoors and the king of the Motox track was an old guy named Roger De Coster.
There was an age poll done in March of 2009, it would be interesting to see if those numbers hold up some six years later.
Meaning there has been many new members since then, and then some that are no longer here (active). I wonder if the age base has gotten older or younger. Perhaps an updated poll is in order?
