CB550: Relocating brake master cylinder
« on: December 27, 2015, 12:08:15 PM »
Spending some idle time during the holidays waiting for some ordered parts and planning some of the rest of my build. Question: does anyone have any experience relocating the brake master cylinder? I'm looking for a very streamlined look at the bars, and i'd like to find a way to tuck one away, maybe behind the headlight. Thoughts, warnings, or part recommendations?

In the 70's some BMW's had a  brake cable from the lever to the master cylinder where, I think, was located somewhere behind the fairing.  Try looking as   74 90S.  I don't recall any details beyond that.
One thought, look for a thumb operated rear brake,  Doohan's 500 GP race bike had one.  It might have been cable operated.

Check out or ask gv1390s trattoria racer and his internal throttle set up.
