Topic: 1981 cb750 Tank on 1978 cb550

I just saw this 1981 Honda CB750 cleaned up cafe racer style and I was really digging the tank. I have been looking around for a bit and I am unsure how to find out if this tank would fit my bike(1978 cb550K). Just wondering if it's possible with slight modifications and how to go about doing this. Thanks!

Yes of course it's "possible."  The only things holding on a tank are two rubber grommets and one other point.

Possible doesn't mean that it will look good, proportioned well to the rest of the bike, positioned well, aesthetically appealing, etc. etc.

IMO it would look out of proportion to the rest of the bike, the tank would look very large.  The cb750 tank will be made to hold more fuel, hence larger capacity, not just width, but length also.
