It could be made to work. I think the wheel would fit but you would have to get creative with brakes.

You may just need the later model caliper mounting arm if you install the later forks.
And you'll want to install tapered bearings too.

So yeah whoever was driving the truck that got these forks to me today before noon must have been on something or other and driving a dragster.

I wasn't expecting them until at least Monday LOL

Thanks again buddy

Gave the piston a few taps (which killed the already screwed lining) and started slowly pumping and fluid. She came out after a good 15 squirting :):) nasty cruddy trash. New seal and should be good :)

Give it a couple coats of caliper paint while you have it off.

Yes I got them already, I was very impressed, the must have perfected those wormholes they were always talking about.

Make sure to clean the groove for the piston seal very well, crap likes to hide in the corners.  Are you sure the piston was crooked or was it just the pad that was crooked and wedging things in place?

+1 on the speed bleeders, I love them :)

Thanks for the advice!

The next thing I'm trying to hunt is a seat pan. The pans for this were only 69, 70 and 71? This could be extremely difficult.

I'm currently bidding on a set of k1 tubes and lowers that look nice. If those don't work out going to go for an early cb450 tube and lower...more available and can still use my wheel and caliper.

Nice, new seals too.  Replace those boots though, they're clearly the wrong ones.  Perhaps off of a smaller CB or even a harley?  Bike originally came with gators.

You should be able to get boots that will fit without flaring like that where they're stuffed over the lowers.

Looks like they've been gone through. I'm going to finish title paperwork tuesday, then once that's good get a battery and see if it runs. I got these forks because they were gorgeous, I had the cash, and If I can't title I'm guessing I could get my money back.

Newbie mistake today. Was starting to strip parts for primer and used a chemical stripper on my bucket. Of course it plastic and totally roaches it. I hate those kind of mistakes. It's now a plastic mess.
