 Buy a GL1000 to push around the shop and the 750 will feel light and nimble like the 550 once did. I have a couple 750 keeper bikes and a few to sell but it's hard to not love that gl1000. Anyway, it's dual sohc.

This is why I have a 550 project with a 650 high compression overbore kit, ported head and cam.  It's modeled to be like a 750 in a 550 package.

Yeah, as long as you can touch with the balls of your feet, you're fine.  It's not supposed to be a chopper.

Exactly.  And when the 750's clutch cable breaks, and you don't have a replacement - it's good to have the 550!
