So I go to look for some parts for my CB400f and CB750 and the prices seem to be insanely high!  Every little bit and piece on Ebay is priced up into the stratosphere.

Worse yet it seems to be getting harder, and harder to find parts bikes where I live.  Maybe all the cheap ones have been bought up?

I just don't understand how sellers thing they can get top dollar for nasty looking stuff.  I just don't get it.  The claw asking $14 +7 ship on some reflectors for a cb750.  Really?

Rant over.

If you think CB prices are high, you better not even think about buying a Kawasaki Triple!

I got a great deal on an H1 spare engine, but had no cylinders or crank.

Found an NOS cylinder on ebay, it is only $479 plus shipping!  And I'll need three!!

Looking for good deals can be a part of the fun, but not when you actually need something quickly. I'm lucky to have a good boneyard near where I live, and found another in ABQ where I am working for a few. We're a bit spoiled in the Southwest since are chrome bits don't rust like they do elsewhere.

I've also found that quite a few Ebay sellers put stuff up for ridiculously high prices hoping to land a whale, but going through the "sold listings" gives a better idea of what stuff actually does sell for.

Regardless, good luck! If I was back in PHX I could look for stuff you need, but it'll be a few weeks before I return. That being said, I've also picked the 400Fs and 350Fs pretty clean outta the yard...

Are you going to rebuild both the 400f and 350f?  I think I need a caliper, but not sure.

Sky rocketing prices for parts only increased the value of a restored bike, Chewy. Your complaint seems at odds with your goals of flipping for profit a bike you resell???

Not complaining just seems like the supply of parts is kinda drying up a bit.  I used to be swimming in the stuff.  I got to find the motivation to see what I got in the basement.  Take out what I need and sell the rest anyhow.

I think chicken is right lots of people on Ebay fishing for whales.  I feel bad for the people overseas they always end up paying high prices.

You said it yourself. Supply and demand dictates pricing. We've made it cool to own classic Honda's and now everyone wants to be like us.

the tide of hipsters buying them at inflated prices to turn them all into the one unique custom cafe seems to be retreating... but they botched up and destroyed enough stuff in the process to make whatever is still around, rare and precious ;)

I meant that over the past 20 years or so I've picked over the 350Fs and 400Fs in the salvage yard. I could draw you a map to them at this point! I do have two projects, one 350F and one 400F in a 350F frame, but I've got most of what I need. If you need a brake caliper for a 400F or 750 let me know. I'm almost certain they'd still be in the yard, but need a rebuild. I'll be back the weekend of April 2-3 and can poke around if you still need one.

Need a 400f one.  Could buy one off ebay, but they want $65 for an empty body.  Those ones have a habit of getting that bleeder valve broken.

Deals are getting harder to find but still exists. Any deal that shows up on ebay goes fast, and you have to check it all the time. I used to buy and resell on ebay all the time...but there getting smarter.
