Crazy Weather extremes this week
« on: March 03, 2016, 07:43:30 PM »
I was sweating on a ride 2 days ago while it was 82 degrees! Drove 2 1/2 hours to this today...

Now I just have to pack all my gear on the bike next time

Did you hit the mogals, Dave?!  What ski area is that, Brian Head?

I skied Santa Fe two months ago, snowed 15" while we were there, it was great!

Yeah, it's Brian Head. I missed the snow by a few days, supposed to get some early next week. Great day though still.

Santa Fe was fun after that dumper in early Feb. Almost cracked my board in half after a gnarly spill.  :)
Went to Taos to finally ski Kachina peak after Santa Fe since the lift was closed last time we went.

Insane weather for the past 3 months!!!!
Incessant rains. Only 5 other years since 1980 have had higher rainfall.  We are something like 7" above the average.
Rivers have all been blown out which killed my winter steelhead season.  My freezer is nearly empty.
The dog doesn't want to go out for a pee, but when he does, he needs a bath as the backyard is a mud pit.
....and it never seems to be dry on the weekend for me to stretch my 750's legs.

But the snowpack is good enough to keep the reservoirs full for the summer  ;D

Rain really has been hacking me off.

That Nighthawk that I bought has barely moved off the trailer - too much rain to work on it.

We even had a downpour and hail this morning in SoCal, but alas we are still in a drought.

You live in a desert. This should not be a surprise.

Technically a coastal desert plain.  But thank you - few people actually realize that.
