1976 CB750F Wheel bearing retainers
« on: March 29, 2016, 08:20:22 PM »
Hey Guys,
My 1976 CB750F came with the original spoked wheels along with the mag wheels that are currently installed.

I want to put the spokes back on by the wheels i have did not have the wheel bearing retainers or the inner axle spacer rod part.

Is the inner spacer required? Can i get away with just putting some fresh all balls bearings in the front and rear wheels and then put some retainers on and be done with it?

anyone selling any of these parts before i put in a partzilla order?

The spacers and races all stack up and tighten together otherwise the axle could squeeze the bearings and put side load on them.

Thanks guys.

Does anyone know where I can get these spacers?

Edit:

The wheels I am removing are Hayashi Mag wheels. Would they have a spacer in them that would be able to use? Sorry, I haven't taken them off yet

you need orginal/or perfekt made alternatives made spacers.
.they have fit total perfekt..in less then 0,1 mm.tolerance.to small the bearings burns up..to big(long) there be slock in the bearing set up..it nees some air/slock..but it are under 0,5 mm...teighten up the vheel must not make the Wheel turn hard

i had used some chims to get the Wheel rotate free.
.think the" retainer "have been kompressed over years..so a thin chim made more Space between the bearings

Why on earth are you taking off a superior wheel? And do you have interest in selling them?

Hey Willi,

The Hayashis are definitely a superior wheel. I am taking them off because I don't plan on keeping this bike. But I wanted to keep the Hayashi's.

I do have two sets of Hayashi's. Once set is original and one set has been sand blasted and ready for restoration. Everything is for sale but I don't plan on "giving" them away. Feel free to drop an offer.
