Check out air-tech the fiberglass company.  They sell brackets for their fairing and may have something you can use.

Hi Andy,

If I remember right, those mounting brackets are about 7 to 8 inches long when flattened out. I'd bet you can find at your Lowes or HmDepot steel stock 3/4" wide that either has holes already punched in or even flat stock aluminum which you can bend into a "V" and drill yourself. The mounting hardware can be picked up at the same time.  Aluminum would be easier to work with and sufficiently strong.

Hey Andy, I have a 1/4 fairing on my Harley and I'm putting one on my CB750 as well. I actually used a set of Turn signal relocation brackets and mounted mine that way. If you want me to send you some photos, just let me know and PM me your e-mail. It's very sturdy at highway speeds and does a good job at getting some of the air up over your chest/shoulders.
You can also use the after market "headlight mounting " brackets apparently, but for me the turn signal relocation brackets worked much better. A couple nylon locking nuts and two holes drilled in the fairing....works perfect and super easy to take off and put back on..... Let me know if you have any more questions. Good luck on the project.

In my opinion, you are better of fabricating your own brackets and adding stay for the upper portion of the fairing. The provided brackets are flimsy. I made mine out of 1/8 aluminium.
