Looking for a cb mechanic
« on: April 08, 2016, 08:52:53 AM »
I have a 1975 cb750 that keeps popping out of first gear. I do not feel comfortable splitting the cases on my own, looking to hire someone to do the job for me. If you can point me in the right direction I would sure appreciate it.  Thank you

where do you live? and it may not need splitting it could just need some work done to the Clutch Plates. think long and hard about sending this engine to anyone that doesn't know how to work on old bikes.

Why not start a post detailing what's going on with he bike so people can give you a hand.

I have a whole post in a different section on this forum. Everyone has been extremely helpful, and unfortunately I probably can't identify the exact problem without splitting the case, and after splitting the case on a spare motor I had, I do not want to do it by myself on my good motor. Pops out of first under any given load. Took off shifter cover and posted a video of me going through the gears (stationary). One guy said it looks as the shift drum is rotating too far before it rolls back and lock in gear, but others say they couldn't really see anything wrong and it's most likely wore shift fork, drum, dogs and I would have to split the case. Here's a link if you'd care to take a look. http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,156514.0.html
