Modern Fairings?

I've been looking for a full fairing for my recently acquired 550 project, but haven't really found anything that fits what I'm going for. I was just curious if anyone has attempted it and what everyone's thoughts were on mounting modern CBR plastics on a SOHC4?

Ive never attenpted this but if you could get the honda repsol fairings to fit up and paint the bike with the repsol colors man that would be sick. I wonder if the modern fairings would allow enough air flow for an air coolerld motor?

It is doubtful you can get modern fairings to simply bolt on, but nearly anything can be done with plastic "welds." Mitchell brings up the most important consideration.  Modern CBR fairings are designed without the concern of air-cooling the engine, so you would need to cut-out portions of the bottom fairing to allow cooling air to reach the engine. 

There are vintage period fairings available for your 550 or adaptable.  Airtech makes a 750 fairing that can be fitted. http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/hondaz/CR7501969-77SINCAM.htm   I am not sure of a source for a made for 550 fairing.  You might want to ask Brent (bwaller) who uses a fairing for racing his CB550.

I've seen the airtech stuff but was wanting to do more of a moder look. Making mounts and brackets would not be an issue i was just more concerned of physical size limitations. Making the fairing flow enough air shouldn't be a problem with adding some extra vents to funnel air off the engine and possibly an oil cooler. Mitchell hit the nail on the head i was thinking modern Repsol fairings with paint to match. Does anyone know based on dimensions if i would need to be looking at 250, 600, or 1000 cbr fairings to closely match the 550? I would guess 600 but modern cases are much smaller but at the same time modern frames are alloy and completely different.
