Thanks MoMo. Sharp eyes - I think you're right. I looked for the pre-load adjustment...and didn't see it. Maybe that's why!

Maybe that's why!I think Larry/MoMo may be referring to the bottom hold-down 'half-clamps' that hold-down the front axle,they need to have the closed part facing forward and the 'gaps' facing toward the rear of the bike,then you can accurately tighten them down to the correct factory torque.Check your oem Honda factory shop manual for removing and installing the front wheel.
I have not revved it past 5000 - no problems getting there at all.
