TwoTired is very much missed in the community.  Every response he made was quite detailed and insightful.  I can understand myself how frustrating it can be sometimes trying to offer experience and knowledge on the forums.

I know one thing for sure though, TwoTired would not be a fan of JWilde.

My thought exactly.  We loose people like TT for trolls like JWilde.

I think the list of trolls and wannabe know-it-alls is a long one my friend. ;)

I'll add one more voice to the long list of those giving credit to Two Tired and his wealth of knowledge. Like many of us, I spend a lot of time searching old posts here for info, and find that if he's written something, it's always carefully laid out, well-informed and accurate, with verifiable data. That treatise on pods and air induction, or the Dow Corning brake grease threads are examples. I think he worked in aviation in some capacity, where proper maintenance and procedures are a life and death issue, so I figured that's where he learned those traits. He's part of the reason my bike's on the road and I'm grateful to him.

Since we are all taking a nice ride down the memory trail don't forget the oft controversial but sometimes informative KINGCUSTOMCYCLE out of Brookston Indiana. I forgot what his second name was when he left in a huff and them came back again for awhile undercover. Got a lot of heat for building choppers/bobbers with no front brake. Don't think He and Retro were going to be beer drinking pals  ;)

TT is the man.  A few times, I had searched the forums for answers and instead of creating a thread, I would just ask him.  He was always super great with responses and helped me get things sorted.
I hope he comes back someday, but I understand why he left.
Now, all we can do is search and read the very informative posts that he created in the past.

It is cool to see that so many of us can appreciate and recall the "good guys" who have left the forum for one reason or another. Great we can still search their intellect through the search function.

Retro has been pretty quiet lately, guess he's out shopping for steering dampers?!

I do wish that TwoTired would see his way to return.  I met him once personally and he is a really nice and smart guy.  It sucks to have people leave, but if you put your opinions on issues, no matter how correct, on a public forum, you will always find someone who disagrees.  For those who moderate the forums, we try to keep the disagreements civil and, even then, people will get pissed and leave.

Maybe if everyone who misses TwoTired's presence sends him a PM, he might be coaxed back.  I think PM messages still find there way to him.

I live maybe 20 mins from Brookston and have never met him let alone know where his shop is at, can't be too hard to find because Brookston is actually a pretty small town. By the way what ever happened to Lucky?

As far as TT his process of elimination explanations in regards to diagnosing a problem was absolutely spot on especially anything electrical and was very helpful in many other ways ........... however who could forget any topic with him and Pamco Pete involved. :)

Well I miss his wit especially! I have seen some very smart people come and go.
Ive learned alot from many here!

yes. I remember that well. King (Rigid) was very helpful to me as well. A lot of bikes don't run front brakes. Its very popular in the chopper (vintage style not the dumb new #$%*) crowd. I don't know that I could ride without one, but people do. Watch "21 days under the sky", two of those guys go cross country without front brakes.

Any why the h3ll would you?
Front brakes do 70%-100% of the stopping.
You can do without a rear brake but not the other way around.

I thought this thread was a tribute to how helpful TwoTired was, and much he is sorely missed. When did it become a debate about front brakes vs rear brakes? I must have missed something???

It went off the rails a while back when some couldn't keep a linear though and started reminiscing about other long gone members like KINGCUSTOMCYCLE and Dave500.
Now we cant find our way home again.  :)
