Finally, weather is getting warmer so I could go on working in the garage.

Gave her new front brake lines and fluid.
Took off the rear fender, cleaned it inside and out, mounted correct rear light/turn signalbracket and put it back on the bike.

Gave her new oil. Mounted a spare ignition coil. New spark plugs. Statically adjusted the ignition.

Mounted the fuel tank from the other KO.

With the help of the BMW battery pressed the starter bottom.

CanĀ“t believe, after 15min, putting out spark plugs for cleaning 2 times,

SHE FIRED UP

after more than 40years sitting in a shed.  One after the other cylinder came. Good girl!

3 minutes later the oil preasure signal went out.  Rev.counter spinned around but after a few minutes calmed down. Engine is rather smooth running (only 30 tkm).

Next job will be valve, chain tensioner and carb adjusting.

I am happy on this very sad day in Belgium.

Great find.  It really looks to be shining up quite nicely.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Adjusted valves, ignition and carbs.
Got the electrics working, fiddled the cables through the handle bar.

Realized a "knock" in the front fork.
Had to change the front brake caliper holder, too much wear. Someone put a washer into it to fix the holder pin.
Good to have a spare holder/pin/arm.
Adjusted the front fork steering.

Wanted to do a short test around the house. No clutch.
Opened the clutch and found a homemade clutch plate.
Remembered, a clutch issue was the reason the bike was set aside in 1975 by PO.

Looking for a correct one with new springs.

Got a used clutch plate and correct screws.
Mounted new clutch and springs.

Mounted new clutch cable. They now have a black rubber protection.
Took that old brownish rubber from the old genuine cable and fitted it to the new cable.

Took her out for a short test. Gearbox and clutch now working fine. Had to adjust the float high of carb no.3 (overflow).

Now waiting for the paint parts to finish project.

As I will have to replace the airfilter box I decided to take out the carbs and cleaned them in my ultrasonic x-mas gift from my wife

Took off the alternator and gearbox cover to have them polished.

Last time she sat on a motorbike is 12 years ago, Lago Garda, Italy,  with a ZRX1100R.
She gave it up when we got our daughter.

Fitted genuine K0 NOS front and rear sprocket and a new chain.

Passed the MOT and made first test ride.

Will put some km on her this weekend and then adjust carbs, valves etc.
