Thanks for the welcomes and hellos.   This forum has a lot of great information, amazing bikes and more than a few characters.

I have had my K4 for 2 months and been riding it for the past 2 weeks. A lot of fun.

After some deep cleaning and replacing missing pieces, I've put almost 200 miles on it commuting and riding around Hanover.

I don't have a lot of experience (read none) working on engines so I am not sure if everything is as it should be. I don't have anything specific, but am not sure if i should be working on something. However, i have read in several SOHC forum entries "if ain't broke don't fix it".

Any advice or shops you can recommend?

I recommend you NOT take it to a local shop. I have had a few dealings with some nearby, and NONE are reliable for SOHCs. Velocity was in business until the 1st of the year, but they're closed now. However, I do know the lead mechanic from there and where he's gone, so if you get absolutely stuck and can't do it, I'll get you his info.

But short of rebuilding the engine, there's almost nothing you can't do with a bit of help and the forum. And I'd be glad to catch up and give your bike a once-over if there's something not right that needs attention.

Cal,

That would be excellent! Getting a knowledgeable SOHC member's quick review would quiet the voices in my head...  some of them .

I work in Innsbrook. And ride at least 2 days a week. PM me if you can meet sometime/somewhere or if others in RVA (or Hanover) want to meet up we can use this thread to set it up.

Hello!

Beautiful bike! I am stuck in Sandston, VA right now for work, been away from my Four since March. I don't have a bike to ride but if on a Sunday you need an extra pair of hands to hold stuff (a beer or a wrench, though I'm handier with the beer) I would be glad to assist!

Thanks for the feedback and offer of help. I hope you get back to your Four soon!  I'll let you know if any big projects or cases of beer are started!

Hello RVA guys,

I wanted to give a public thank you to CalJ737.  Cal gave up some of his time yesterday to give my CB750 K4 a thorough review for any major safety issues  and other trouble spots common to CBs. When he agreed to meet I hoped he would spend a few minutes making sure everything sounded okay, but he did much more than that!

He also shared some of his experience and tools to help this Newbie to create a prioritized list of the projects I need to do to get my orange beauty running it top shape.  With his direction and guidance I will focus on what is important...really important to keeping it running for years.  I hope some day that I, an ignorant fool, may be able to add some of my experiences to the vast collection of facts, opinions and sometimes a little wisdom that make up this excellent SOHC4 forum.   Hopefully all my contributions are not all "mistakes to avoid"!!  ???

Thanks again, Cal!
