1975 cb750 charging issue
« on: June 15, 2016, 08:22:09 PM »
Hi guys, I just bought the bike and the guy before me said it has a charging issue. Possibly stator.. After about 2 hours of riding lights start dimming and bike dies. Any ideas as to what's going on. Where should I start?

Howdy! Welcome.

You should grab a copy of the shop manual here:

It will help you diagnose the problem. :)

ignition coils relplaced? 3 ohm coils drain battery rather quick.
Search for other threads where TwoTired explain the charging system in detail and how to fault trace. Use google when search

I've been chasing down similar problems on my '76 F in this thread: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,157858.0.html

If you read through there, there's some really good advice from members.
