Does anybody have a reference for buying advancer springs from Yamiya?  I know a few folks with 90 cc Honda engines that could use a few.

For Flybox1 - do you have a URL for those springs?

Many thanks. Looks like I will be reaching for my caliper tonight for a measurement.  Really appreciate it.

So I finally got it figured out. I was able to get it statically timed by keeping the point gap at the minimum and just barely got it timed statically. Turns out I'm an idiot and because of the wasted spark I was not getting anywhere close to the right rpm's  I managed to break my harbor freight RPM gauge by  letting it get too close to the exhaust so I set timing statically and then turned down the idle until my timing was no longer advanced while running now she's doing great and I'm on to syncing the carbs.

I appreciate your guys help I was surprised by how many people were so knowledgeable and willing to help, thank you

Using a strobe at 1100 idle, my spark is advanced to somewhere between the F and T marks.
If the strobe shows between the F and T marks at idle, your timing is retarded, not advanced.

Prior to that I would doublecheck ign timing is really the same for 1+4 and 2+3. Two or three degrees extra advance is not a problem as long it's for both 1+4 and 2+3.

OEM parts? If I set my breakerpoints (TEC) gap exactly in the middle (0,35 mm) as a result the timing plates are right in the middle of their adjusting range after I've set the timing correctly. That tells you Honda (and/or TEC) did their job well and how precise parts were made. BTW, if you choose to have a new tach, you may consider one that also measures dwell. A dwellmeter is an useful instrument to detect possible irregularities that a feeler cannot.

If full advance happen too early, correct the adv springs. Very easy to do.
I did it and wrote about it, both springs. ( I remember that next problem back then was floading floats)

You can start with 1  of the 2 springs if your are not sure about it

I have the yamiya spring too, have not tested them yet

They are tec points, I checked both 1-4 and 2-3 with the strobe and it is dead on.  I'm not very familiar of points they be there too worn down to have anything other than the tightest gap?

After a caliper measurement yesterday,  these appear to work on the 90 cc Honda engines. They look identical and my guess is that they would work on lots of older Honda engines.

Yep, you're right. My mistake.
