 I have one....I think that's what it is. I also have a large tub of random rubber bits and O-rings. I bet I can come up with something. ;)
 Plus, I'm not sure what's included with the signals I have coming. They should be here tomorrow, along with new bars/controls, a headlight bucket, air filters/covers and side covers. Christmas in July!!

 Forks are off, apart and cleaned, new seals are here. Now I just need to go get the proper size PVC pipe so I can drive them in. I also got the front tire and brake cleaned up and inspected. Tires should be here in a few days.



 I also got the controls swapped over from the CB350 bars that came in my box 'o' goodies. This was a nice set of controls in great shape. I'm also glad I was able to re-use the gray Honda cables. They look a little rough, but function well and I get to keep the vintage gray vs. aftermarket black cables.

You don't own it? ok,just wondered.I realize if you own it Scott that you'll know what it needs,etc.
I'm not really ready to get it now anyway as i'll be moving and need the room in my trailer,just thinking I'd like to have another one someday.

 Usually, when they end up in that part of the yard at this shop there's something terminal or expensive wrong with them. I suspect it was a customer bike that needed more work than he was willing to spend.

 I took the rusty, crusty, bent and broken turn signals that came in the box of CL350 parts, dug through my stash of CB500/550 parts....



  .....and cleaned, straightened, wire brushed, soldered, polished and combined the best pieces to make four good turn signals.



 Starting to look shiny back here again!

 The forks will be going back together tomorrow after work. I tried the PVC trick with the 1-1/2" sink extension and can only get the seals in partway, even after lubing them up. I went back and got some more heavy duty PVC and I'll cut and chamfer it tomorrow; plus, my Dad is stopping by to give me a hand.

 I need some guidance on how the fork ears and gaiters go back together. I have a diagram, but I'm still a little confused and I didn't take enough pics when disassembling them. :(

 Here's the diagram:


 1) I know that the gaiters wrap into the groove in the fork lowers at the bottom. I don't remember there being anything on top of the circlip that retains the fork seal. Is there anything that sits on the circlip?
 2) The plastic liner for the springs: It goes up top like in the diagram?
 3) I know where the chrome trim ring goes at the bottom of the headlight ears. There's a plastic washer, a flat washer and a cupped washer....where do they go and in what order?

The 3 pieces #'s 22,24 & 25 are the key to making that gaiter stick up onto the fork ear,play with them until you get one to grip a hold of that rubber;there's a type of ridge underneath on top of each rubber gaiter..

Okay, trying to get them back together now and the seals seem abnormally difficult to get seated. Number 14 in the diagram seemed to just drop down on top of the fork lower, just below the seal. It's not supposed to go down INSIDE the fork lower, is it? If so, I don't see how.
 I'm just going through it in my head and trying to think of anything that could keep the seals from seating. I need just a couple more mm' s on each to get the circlip in.
 And, of course, they're both started now and I can't take them apart to look at #14 again.

 It took two people, WD40, a thicker piece of PVC pipe, a BFH and LOTS of persuasion, but I finally got the seals in. The forks are back together and filled with 200cc of 10W fork oil. Now I can start working on getting the headlight, fender, turn signals, etc., all back together.
 Hope to drop off the wheels tomorrow to have the tires mounted.

 The air cleaners came today so I went about getting the carbs/cleaners/covers installed. At first, things seemed to be going well.



 But I soon realized I had a couple of problems.
 The threaded rod I have seems way short. I've worked on a CB350 before and I know there's not a lot of extra length to play with, but this one isn't even close. I only had one air filter to tube rubber, so I used a big O-ring I had on the RH side. I thought maybe that was keeping the filter(s) from seating properly against the tube so I removed it. Even with only one O-ring and metal to metal on the RH side, the rod is short.



 When I install the metal covers, there's no way the rod is fitting through. And yes, I checked and double checked that the filters and covers are seated as tight as they can be. The rod I have is 9 11/16" or ~246 MM long.

 But I have a bigger problem with the carb(s).
 The choke coupling seems to be installed wrong. It simply will not stay clipped to the LH carb. And it seems to foul the breather tube that runs down the backbone of the frame AND the throttle linkages on the carbs.

 Here's a picture I took when I first removed the carbs for cleaning. I noticed then that the choke butterflies were out of sync.



 I never removed the choke attachment/arm from the RH carb; I only loosened it on the bench  and rotated it just enough to sync the choke plates.
 But now that they're on the bike, something doesn't seem right.  To turn the choke ON, the spring has to go down like this, at which point it pops off the LH carb and starts hitting the breather tube.



 But to turn OFF the choke and open the butterflies, it goes like this and it starts fouling the throttle arms, especially on the RH side.



 My bike came with pods and the breather is run down the backbone of the frame and behind the engine. Is this in the correct place?

 With the help of a member of the HondaTwins forum, I was able to route the breather the correct way and I found a nut/bolt in my parts bin that would work as the pinch bolt on the choke linkage.



 I had to leave out the washers and I used a thinner piece of foam for the crossover tube...and I still had to squeeze the air filters like crazy...but I got it all assembled! I even finished synching the carbs/cables. Everything seems good to go now!

 I forgot to mention that the title paperwork was approved last week. That's the fastest ever using that process and I've already been to the DMV and have a clean, clear title on the way!

 I've also been chipping away at various things. The tires are mounted and I got them installed. I cleaned, greased and adjusted the clutch. Got the chain installed. Lubed the swing arm bushings. Got front and rear brakes adjusted. Got the headlight installed and wiring hooked back up. I have some L.E.D. bulbs on the way for the tach and speedo backlights.
 It's starting to look like a bike again! It won't be long until I need a battery and will try to make some noise!

I think you should have a halfmoon chrome bracket, ahead of the handlebar clamps,keeps your. Cables from rubbing on stuff.

I made some noise today! Set the points and timing per the Common Motor video. Started right up. I had to make some minor carb adjustments to get it to idle (and will have to do it again once the tank is on....with the throttle cable bowed out, it's fine; when I push it against the back bone it's too high). No smoke, no leaks, no funny noises. I made some clutch adjustments and actually took it up and down the street on the gas in the float bowls....a whole tenth of a mile!

Observations:

- Throttle cable will need tuning once bodywork is on, as stated above.
- Clutch still needs some tweaking. I have all 5 gears, but it takes a little too much pressure to down shift.
- Headlight works, high and low beam
- Tail light works. Rear brake switch works, front does not....yet.
- Horn works.
- Two turn signals light up, sometimes a third. One is DOA at the moment. I can sometimes hear the flasher relay click but when it does, none of the lights come on. I'll have to go through those connections and check grounds. Probably just replace the flasher.

- The biggest bummer is the charging system. Even at 3-4K, I'm only getting 12.8V. I'll have to read up on the 350 charging system and track that down. I've heard about a Radio Shack rectifier but Radio Shack is now defunct. I'm not even sure at this point what the culprit is.

Overall, pretty successful I'd say. Just minor tweaking and tuning to do. Hopefully I can start on the cosmetics soon.

I've heard about a Radio Shack rectifier but Radio Shack is now defunct. I'm not even sure at this point what the culprit is.

The manual has the instructions for testing the rectifier.
I assume you've already checked/cleaned all the connections.
