Cycle-X Visit
« on: June 17, 2016, 02:51:54 pm »
I stopped to visit Kenny yesterday. Everyone is invited to a shop party...........TOMORROW ;) Ken says entertainment will include Taylor Swift and the catering is by Wolfgang Puck. Take a dog-treat for Truman (his Great Dane) to get past the security gate ;D ;D ;D

The shop looks better than ever and has the best 'team' of employees ever  :) :) :) :) :)  The shelves and sky-hooks are well stocked........but no motor in the dragster :( The CR-replica gas-tanks and seats look great..........but the oil tank needs work..........or another craftsman supplier. We traded a few cam-chain tensioners for Ken's usual denial of any value............and went shopping in the spares department.........an acre or more of chrome growing in the back yard 8) 8) 8). We left most of it but I did find a clean stator-cover and a K0 top-tree.

Ken must be attracting more traffic to his door............the road-builders are busy adding lanes and smoothing the hills leading to Ken's US-51 frontage ;D ;D ;D  As we were leaving, Ken promised to ride down to visit the 33rd-annual HILL CLIMB near West Bend. I help my fellow club members run the event. If any of you show-up..........I'll be standing at the top of the hill working as a Course Marshall.

You are never too far to visit Ken.  I live in Toronto (732 miles from Cycle X) I have been there four times to talk to the wizard, once to deliver my CB750 motor for his magic, once to pick up the finished motor, later to show him my finished bike (which he test rode), and the last time on a return leg from a trip to Sturgis.  So if you live in North America, he's just around the corner....hahaha!

Did you have your 750 in Sturgis?  I live just 10 min from there.  See a couple 750's every year and everyone has to look at mine and my dads because they remember them from back in the day...even the harley guys!

My K3 was in Sturgis in '73 and '74. I remember the free dinner............hot-dogs and beans ;D ;D................and the Olds V-8 stuffed into a bike chassis.

Ken still does his innovative bike-improvements from seat-of-the-pants experience and a very cognitive mind. Flow-benches, dyno-tuning, and calculated motor specs don't fit in Kenny's world. He'd rather put something inside the motor and try it out..............or cut the motor in half to see how it fits ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sorry, no I had my 2002 Roadstar chopper there.

My 750 is a hardtail and 500 mile/days on it is a bit too much for my old bones.

Good on you for RIDING to Sturgis ;)  Several HD-riders are known to 'meet' their bike at the airport and look COOL for the weekend with a wash-off tattoo :(

We say they rode there bike to the trailer ralley, so many people trailer there bike or bring it in the back of a pickup.  Also lots of semi transports full of bikes and the riders meet them here.  So yeah good on you for actually riding it here lol
