yO ,

The seat my buddy ordered from BCR a.k.a Benjie's Cafe Racers came to my house today, so I figured I would post some pics.My buddy opted for no rear taillight, so this one is all smooth. I will say this seat is built very solid , outta a decent gauge metal (no fiberglass her gentelman) ;DThe seat pan is perfect, with lots of bracing (as you can see) and the seat pad itself is nice and tight. Overall the fit and finish of this seat is killer...

Once he gets it mocked up on his CB750 I will snap some pics.
A big thumbs up goes to Benjie, as this seat is worth every penny my buddy spent...

nice seat. its worth more than the bike? I'd love to get his seat/tank combo, but at $700 its a hard deal.

It is some decently thick gauge steel.
All of the bodywork is perfect, and you can really tell he took his time on making the entire seat.
Mounting is gonna be as simple as drilling some holes for the factory mounts, and call it a day.
My bud is also gonna stash the battery and electronics under the hump, so he can ditch the sidecovers.
The factory oil tank is gonna be replaced with a "custom creation" he doesn't want me to talk about, but I will post pics when it's all said and done...

The seat ran him $300, which if you think about the time/effort/materials/seat pad/quality is not bad at all.
I paid all of that and then some for my Gullari seat on my CB750..

I dropped $325 on a seat that I had Sargent make for me, using my seat pan, so this looks like a good deal indeed. I'd much rather be able to tuck the electrics under the seat too, which I can't do now. If I ever do another one of these, that looks like the route for me.

PT, how is the padding on the seat. Good for mostly around town or could you do a few hundred miles on it. Sharp looking seats and I've looked at them alot. Its just the $300 bucks.

I've been looking long and hard at the BCR seat while trying to make up my mind on what to put on the new bike. The big rear hump does look good for stowing electrics and the long seat bench looks like a good riding position for rearsets. Can't wait to see the mock-up pics.

Is there any weight penalty with this seat or is it lighter than the stock one?

You want to save weight? Looks like BCR is starting a line of carbon fibre seats and tanks

Very very nice looking bikes. Makes me sort of regret selling my 550F

But, turns out the R75's can look decent as cafe bikes too - BCR - how about some BMW parts

First bike is my brothers R75/7 (mine is an R75/6). Second is a Google bike.

The padding is on the smaller/thinner side, but seems to have some good cushioning to it (maybe that killer memory foam?)..
I don't see why you couldn't use this seat on a long ride...

While this seat is badass, it does weight allot.
Coming from when I had a stock seat on my CB750, I would have to say that this seat weighs just as much, if not more.
The first thing I said when I pulled it outta the box was , "Damn this #$%* is heavy !"

But for all the pros of this seat, I could deal with the one con (weight), if it were going on my bike.
Here is a pic of it laied on my CB450 project just for an early "mock-up" pic...
As soon as it goes on the correct bike, I will post some pics...

Wooohoooo! Benjie is just finishing up my seat tank combo....looks great. The tank is fiberglass. I am going to weld a curved metal bar to the back of the frame to match the curvature of the new seat then powder coat.

I took a drive to my aunts house this morning (where my 55 and CB750 sleep for the winter), and threw the Benjie seat on my bike to snap a few "mock-up" pics for you guys to see.. The seat is def. narrow, and it gonna need some creative thought to mount to the bike. I was in the mindset that his seats used the stock hindges for mounting, but the way the seat sits, their is no way. I will say after sitting on the seat on the frame, I could def. see putting a few miles on it and not having a achey ass..

I was also thinking the seat would use the stock mounts. When I was reading about the seat he had for the F1 he stated that it would use the stock hinges. Also that it would sit on top of the frame rails as in your pic.

Thanks for the weight info. Not too concerned about a little extra weight. Best way to lose weight on my bike is for the rider to go on a diet

The minute I placed the seat on my bike I knew the stock seat mounts wouldn't work.
The way this seat is made, it literally sits on top of the factory frame rails, so then the hinges for the
seat mounts are just hanging their in dead space. My buddy Danny (owner of the seat) is a fabricator by trade, so mounting this seat isn't gonna be an issue for him on his build. You should see the gas tank he is gonna build for his 750 cafe racer ! Gonna be stretched, then we are gonna split it down the middle. The basic idea is to section off the left side for fuel, then the right side will be 1/2 oil tank, 1/2 "empty space" for his electrics. The battery is gonna go inside the hump of the seat.

Should be killer when complete...

I am pretty sure benji used an F frame to do his mockup and it is possible that it may work with the F hinges. I don't know how this helps except that the F has a bolt on hinge (not a welded on hinge) to the frame and maybe you adapt that to your bike. Just thinking out loud.

After looking more at the seat, and talking with the seats owner (my buddy Danny) , we figured out how the seat mounts.
The brace inside the hump has two threaded holes , which will attach to the "brace" in the rear of the frame, and then their is a tab that goes under the tank to mount the front. I couldnt figure this out when I had the seat on my bike eariler, because my "brace" was cut-off.

So now it all makes allot more sense.

Good Stuff! I just got a seat tank combo as well as the oil tank and Benji even made me a battery box with all the stock electric relocated under the seat. Everything I got was straight bolt on, Benji did an excellent job designing everything. Is the tank is a bit on the heavy sit, then again so is the bike. I will have to post some pics when I get my frame and parts back from the powder coater!

This seat is not for my CB, it is for a friend of mine's CB750 project..
I just posted about it becasue I know allot of people were curious to see
Benji's work..

I am still running (and always will) the Black Guallari seat on my CB.
