Brier Brown metallic is a 'straight' metallic. Not a Candy.

Ok, thanks Menno, good to know. I have worked with my K6 so my K2 build has been on hold for a while. Mostly put all parts together.
I have not decided yet if the bike will become dark brown again as shipped, but in  a more shiny sparkling version.

I’m a little late to this thread but...

I’ve got an early K2, in Briar Brown. It hasn’t seen much sunlight in the last 25 years or so.
You are correct, it is dark, DARK, kind of a root beer color. In the sunlight it turns brown, and somewhat sparkly, but not candy.

I hated it at first, but it has really grown on me.
I worry taking photos won’t actually be an accurate depiction of the color!

Good to know. I'm curious since the tank at Yamiya look very dark and no stains of brown at all. I can imagine that sunshine is needed.
The old briar brown I have seen on Youtube look like the bike have been forgotten outside in the sunshine for decades and look really ugly and fade more to a faded purple, magenta tone.
If you have photos that can show the color with brown metallic, do not hesitate to post them here.

The yamiya tank does not look right to me.
It was dark and rainy here today...I will see if I can get some decent looking sunlight and regular photos for you.
