Hey gang

Here 'cuz I picked up a '75 400Four earlier this year.

2017 goal is to get it running and on the road, and put some miles on it.  It will become a project in a year or so, once some planning/visualizing takes place.   Will do a full engine out of frame cleanup and it will be changed a little, but nothing will be done to it that can't be "undone".

Right now, the imagination sees upgraded brakes and suspension, some minor ergo changes, and a few little cosmetic alterations. I'd kinda like to turn it into a little "back road burner". But it will still be recognizable as a CB400F.

Me thinks many hours will be spent on this site too.....

What else is in the garage?  2004/05 CBR600RR track bike, 2014 Monster 796, and a '73 Suzuki T500 that got cleaned up and cafe'd over the last year or so.

Thanks all.

and ya...took a "couple" of the Suzi here and there along the way  ::)

in the barn:

week or two later after a quick rinse:

and the finished product:

If you ever hang out on DTT....there's a build thread there.

Outsourced some sandblasting (frame, rims, custom fenders), powdercoating (rims) and fuel tank (a solid but banged up $40 KZ400 tank) painting; bought some clipons and rearsets and an oil tank; and had a seat made up.  Had a ball working on it!!

Well....to some degree it was a budget consideration. They're not perfect, but they cleaned up really well, and they're plenty "loud enough".

And I think they add to the overall horizontal line "theme" that the bike has going, as well as a weight balancing thing....a little visual weight up top out front vs a little visual weight down low out back.   On the other hand, maybe that's just me gettin' too artsy fartsy.....
