300 exhaust vs 341 exhaust
« on: January 07, 2017, 04:12:55 PM »
I understand what models of exhaust goes on what bikes...but what are the differences in appearance other than the pns on the exhaust.

WHICH PERFORMS BETTER?

300 are more free-flowing and have a removeable baffle.  341s have more baffles that are permanent.  300s sound better.  Most would argue they perform better as well - I can imagine by much though.

If I had to choose, I'd pick 300s everytime.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Visually, what is the difference [other than the markings]

I'll be restoring a K1 later this year and have a nice set of 341's but no 300's, so I plan to use them.

Just the end cap is the only difference visually, the pipes on the exterior are the same looking. I also would take 300's over 341's given the choice so +3.

I have the Yamiya750 HM300 replicas. No diffusers in, a wonderful sound. Diffusers in will choke the engine.
HM341 is not an option since my engine is modified and std HM341 way too restrictive. Only an open  4-1 as alternative.
I read about the HM300 on this forum and possible to use them on a modified engine. Big bore, ported head, hotter cam.......

Real no number pipes would be the best, do not think they had any internal chambers- Whoo Hoo.  If you had a minty original set probably worth more than the bike for a Sandie guy.

Same hear Stev-o. This K1 for next winters project needs exhaust. Was considering buying a new set of 300's from Yami, but could price myself out of my sale margin...if I sell it.

Outside all look the same. HM300 has much larger diffusers while HM341 has an end plug to look as the end of 300 diffuser.
Lotus root pipes would be fine for ear and engine breathing, but not for wallet if finding a set.

Yes the 341 'diffuser' cap is there to keep out a mouse and the 300 has a real baffle pipe that can be wrapped.
