K and N pod size?
« on: February 21, 2017, 01:17:01 pm »
I know the topic has been beaten to death but I have question I'm hoping someone can answer . I am looking at putting a set of pods on my '77 cb750 with PD A1 carbs I measured the outside diameter of them and it's 46 mm but the pods they recommend ( RC-2314) inside diameter is 40 mm is that a really tight fit or have I got the wrong measurements/pods? . I know most don't recommend going this route. But I want to try ,   I just hate the look of the box and I want the space. Thanks.

The pod filter set we offer is 42mm ID.  They will fit your carbs.   They are round (not oval as pictured).  They work well and you can clean and re-oil them.

You can find them here:  http://cbrzone.com/sohc.html

KN has special oil in spray can. My worked fine last time 2 years ago. Bought it 1984 when I gave pods to my carbs (VM29 Smoothbores).
Cleaner too. this last long. Sorry, I think I used it last year too when my new carbs got new KN pods :)

Pat is correct - 42mm ID.

Starting out with dry pods can be a good move - then when all else fails to correct your over-lean condition you can always add some oil to richen things up a bit  ;D
