Clutch adjustment issue
« on: March 16, 2017, 04:42:36 PM »
So, I just rebuilt my motor (because of top end issues) and I split the cases to replace some seals. I pulled out the entire clutch assembly/transmission as a whole, didn't disassemble anything. Just got it back together yesterday. I went to go for a quick ride, and when I pulled in the clutch, first gear engaged but the bike did not move forward. I could actually push the bike easily when in gear.  Next, I adjusted the clutch per the manual. Now I can't push it when in first, but when I pull the clutch lever to disengage the clutch, I still can't move the bike. It shifts from first to neutral to second and so on just fine. No noises while running either. Bike is a1972 CB750. I never had any clutch problems before. What am I missing? Could the cover be on wrong? Plates stuck together from sitting 2 1/2 months?

Glad it's sorted. I'm surprised they were stuck, I have to park my 750 for 6 months of the year due to the climate in my area. The clutch always works fine each spring. What oil are you using out of curiosity?
