1976 k crank pin bearings
« on: May 14, 2017, 02:59:41 PM »
After tearing my motor apart I am trying to determine what bearings I need to use when I rebuild it. I've done the table crank/ case and I know what it had originally but before I order $200 in bearings I want to make sure I have the right ones. After double checking my crank pins I measure a few of them at 35.095. This is way below anything on thr tables I see. Do I need to start looking at a replacement crank?

What are you measuring with? I would not trust a caliper. Micrometer needs to be checked with a standard.

Haven't done any plastigauge yet either, I'm picking up some sleeves tomorrow. So I can gauge where I'm at with the  Current bearings that were in the bike

Ok just went through my crank pins again and they consistently get 35.9918 or 1.417". For a minute there I thought I was going to have to get a new crank! So I should be able to go green  bearings and double check with plastigauge
