Used Metal Rescue myself. After it was clean I rinsed it out with water and immediately put maybe a gallon of gas in and shook it around and dumped that out. Then filled with gas and rode the bike with no issues.

Just to follow up, I did another soak with Metal Rescue. After draining the tank, I dried it out with the shopvac. I followed that with a rinse using Marvel Mystery Oil. Thus far, no flash rust has returned.
