What would be a dream to do is a motor with all the performance bits but the prices in SA are prohibitive to say the least.

Most def. Just coating the bits you already have (if they are in good condition ) is suppose to improve performance and longevity a #$%*load. And it's not actually that expensive. Just need to save a bit.
I might do this while my 400 engine is still in pieces....Guess that's one way around it. Have you seen a difference with your newly coated exhaust?

Just one of the many items i have had done for my build and have assembled nothing too date. Went to Powerkote yesterday and are seriously thinking of doing the casings in ceramic but they bead blast before applying a coat and i concerned that it may leave bits behind and destroy the engine. What's your feeling ?

Two Seeley 750s are currently being resurrected, mine being one of them. Take a look in the "projects" forum. A Rickman is also seeing the light of day.

I wasn't aware of the blasting. They are professionals so hopefully they would clean it properly afterwards. My engine has already been vapor blasted so they might not have to do it again. What are they quoting you for the that?

Don't have a quote as yet. Been told by a friend that they sand blast anyway and not bead blast. The casing i saw was clean as a wistle

Hi Guys,

Are you still there?

I'll be - hopefully - doing a bit of an SA tour very shortly. I'm based in Harare and am verturing on a trip from Belfast–2–Belfast; the first is in Mpumalanga and the second in N Ireland.

So I have to go down your way to start off. Then I have to attend my daughters graduation at UKZN. After that it's "point her north" and start with conquering the Sani Pass.

So would be nice to meet up with anyone to share a beer.
