Out of the shop, working on the house.
« on: July 02, 2017, 08:42:24 PM »
Our current house closes in about a week, so trying to get most of the construction on the new one out of the way. Got out of my shop this week to frame and install a 16' sliding door/wall! Made a huge difference in the look of the house so far.
Took out this bar, (went to a good home)

And this little sliding door you can barely see in this pic on the left

New door/wall

Kitchen is next!

Nice job.  Looks like you installed a large LVL for your header.   What's the plan for the kitchen?

Yeah, hired an engineer to spec out the correct size. Plan for the kitchen is to make it less 70's haha! Everything in the house was original to 77, including the carpet. The design is up to my wife, that's what she does for a living. I'm just going to do the work. Our last house turned out great that way, so I'll trust her on this one too!

Ah yes, the lava rock fireplace. It's actually kinda cool looking in person, but it's going to have to change when I vault the ceilings since the rock stops at the current ceiling level. Keeping the fireplace in the center though!
