"72 500 4 clutch push rod
« on: July 06, 2017, 05:39:38 AM »
Just got the bike. Not running. In process of getting it going noticed clutch lever really hard to pull.. Pulled left side cover and pulled out clutch rod.  Removed clutch push rod about 2 1/2" long.
Should rod be one piece and longer.
If need new one, is there a good source for 500 parts?

Sounds like ebay or make your own: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,369.msg949314.html#msg949314 and http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,84249.0.html

Luckily it's a simple part.  Water or oil quench drill rod ought to be cheap and fit the bill for materials.
