Bike won't turn after flathead start
« on: August 10, 2017, 07:09:44 PM »
Hey guys, I have a 76 cb550k I've been starting with a flathead for the past few days(waiting on throttle starter assembly AND kicker spring) and was just messing with the idle and the thing died and now I am getting no response from putting the flathead between to start the bike? What did I do!?

 I am guessing you have been starting it off the solenoid maybe ?? Is there any power for light etc. or completely dead. May want to check the main fuse or see if the battery is dead.

Yes I've been jumping from the two nuts located under the left side panel. I have power to the lights so I think I burned the starter? It Sparks and I hear a tiny sound like it's about to start turning but don't get anything

Edit;
Let the bike sit for a bit, went out and tried again and was getting it to turn and getting a response from the throttle but it wouldn't fire up completely and died again. Went to start immediately afterwards and ran into the same "spark and no turn" problem. Am I flooding the bike? What's going on?

Put the bike in gear and try to roll it.
If you think you flooded it, pull the plugs and try pushin see what happens.
