So maybe closer to 13 to 1.....we hope! Lol. Head is Mike Rieck Stage IV with beehive springs from Kenny. Flows 82cfm @ .500 lift, 79 @ .400! Thanks Murphy.

That engine is looking so sweet I had to get a napkin to wipe up the drool! The XA oil rails are scary to hold let alone get in the cylinder I probably would have broke one myself.

I see BIG mph coming your way. You'll top 125 for sure. One more thing you can cross off the bucket list. 9 second pass will be next.

Nice work as usual Bill.

Just how thin is the ring combination ?

 Captain
XA ring pack  Top .8mm  Second .8mm  Oil (2 rails + expander) 1.5mm

Current tech and exactly what I am running..........(I'm 74mm +). Even with the bigger bore I still had to change my assembly procedure and now install from the top using a tapered sleeve (automotive style)
Too difficult, to long and to easy to make an error when doing the conventional way from underneath.
I'm impressed if this was done the conventional way, very impressed because I couldn't do it.

Captain, what do you mean by doing it the conventional way as in from underneath. What other way is there?
I do it a completely different way to what I have seen other people doing and it's dead easy, even when using these fiddly thin 3 piece oil rings.
Saying that, I have only used my system on small racing twin cylinder motors but the big 4 cylinder motors are no more than 2 twins, side by side.
After saying all that, I've never worked on a big 4 so perhaps it's not possible with the amount of room available.

Captain, please disregard my last post as I've figured what you were trying to explain using the Automotive method.
My method is to install the pistons from the bottom one at a time with the block on the bench where the tapper is then lower the block over the rods and fit the piston pins.
The pins have to be fitted from underneath but it's a lot easier than trying to get 2 pistons at a time into 2 sleeves from underneath.

Lol, its a #$%* sometimes.....was done the conventional method with hose clamps...high tech ones, they were shiny! Definitely was not easy or for faint of heart, Top and 2nd go rt in but dem thin rails and an expander that overlaps if you look at it twice....Time to degree and finish this puppy! We got a race to make....

That’s a pretty crazy sidewinder and spigot set🧐

What’s the story on that?  Looks like a custom set of primary tubes done for a aftermarket slip on collector/muffler.

I forgot to mention the expander that want to overlap. I double checked with 2 needles spreading the expander apart to verifyi it has not overlapped, again.
I contacted Mike when I had problems with the rings and I got it verified that it is normal to pinch a ring. Just replace it and learn. ;)

Look really good! A good reason to install the JMR billet block by its look only.
The extra torque a consequence that is possible to live with.  ::)

Good job on getting the bike together Bill. It sounded great and ran well.

Bill, I forgot to tell you to check the rear tire pressure. You're only using a small amount of contact area in the center of the tire. While high pressure might be good for reducing rolling resistance in the pursuit of a mph record, on a marginal racing surface you could be prone to tire spin on a hard launch.

I know you're the resident hi po engine builder and drag racing guru but I'm  just offering my opinion for what its worth.
