Life and "curve" balls..
« on: August 26, 2017, 12:51:34 PM »
Sometimes I just wonder where all this will end, another curve ball thrown over the plate.

Where have I been? Well, working on the transplant list for the other half. You know, do this, do that and don't forget this. Hoops. Lots of hoops.

Upon returning from Phoenix on June 21 with a meeting of the transplant team the surgeon wanted Mikki to have a stink checked out. Stint? What fricken stint? The one right here that was put in 2016. Really? No one ever told us this was done. Guess it would be easy to overlook given she was hospitalized over 6 times last year but really? Where was prescription for this?

OK, ok will set it up. So, consult, schedule, get it done. On the day of the out patient surgery for a possible new stint I was called in the back for a  doctor consultation. Not good, not good at all. What's up? She needs a triple bypass surgery. Now. Also known as the cabbage.

Curve ball!!! Off to Vegas she goes. Admitted on July25, surgery done on 31 st. Yeah, surgeon is that busy not to mention her vitals were out of whack. Another 11  days in recovery then over to a rehab for another 7  days.

Finally got her back home on the 18 th. of this month. Been hectic changing medications, Doctor follow ups, still doing home dialysis and last but not least 2 months of home rehab that was  just approved. It never ends it seems. Taken a toll  on me these last 2 years.

Life and curve balls. Hope for the best, expect the worse.

Rant over.

(I feel better and will now go drink margaritas until I can no longer  stand. At  home  of course.)

Yeah, that's where I have been Steve. It's never ending just expected.

High heat warning all weekend here. 115 or above. It's still August, about another month. Had a few cool mornings so I dug the Suzuki out for a spin. Turn petcock, fuel to the ground. Lots of it. Great, like I have time for this?

Stuck floats I imagine or cracked. Was going to pull  the  bowls but it's to hot.

Margaritas are cold. ;)

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Best wishes for your wife. That must be some really scary stuff. A buddy of mine (49 years old) just had to do a triple branch bypass.

Stay strong!  The good news is they can do all of this stuff today which would have been impossible not that long ago. Just stay in the game and enjoy all the positive results.  I know how hard it is to ride this roller coaster.

Thanks guys.  ;)

It's never ending work/care and pretty much takes any free time I have or will have. Can only hope but hope fades quickly when you keep getting punched in  the face for the last 2 years.
