Re-use Conrod bolts

Need to take my crankshaft apart in order to swich transmission chain.
 I´ve read that using old bolts for the big ends is Never an option. Allways get new ones because of the fact that they "stretch to hold"
 
Any opinions and/ or bad experiences about this.
Locktite?! I have to blame my own stupidity that I didn´t put a new chain in when I rebuilt the motor this spring.

Allready know the final answer, but I´m curious if anyone has tried :)

Whats preventing you from just sliding the chain over it?  :-\

The connecting-rods. I have the bottom half of the engine off. Sliding the camshaft out so I can remove the crank with the camchain and leave the head and cylinders with the pistons assembled. Working on the tranny so there´s no reason to take apart the top in my opinion.

I reused the bolts on my build, and just double checked my torque.

i just bay a new thain...its easy to pull the valve cover..and brake the chain..and put a new closed thain inn..then you have no vorryes of any link go bad..
have the crank aut gives a easy thange of these parts..and nev sealings/simmerings om the crank ends..they have dots..so no vay to thange them later..they are locked in the cases

I also reused my connecting rod bolts.

I don't subscribe to the thought that Honda made the rod bolts so weak,  that they should be unusable once torqued to specification.

I agree! As I remember they are torqued to about 35-40 Nm (got notes somewhere) and that should not stress the life out of any bolt used only once..... But then again.
 I´ll give it a go and if my motor turns inside out, I´ll post a nice album for everyone to enjoy :)

 After what my 836 went thru with stock rods, I would not even  worry about it on a stock motor.

He's wanting to change the primaries not the cam chain.
I've re used plenty of rod bolts with never a problem. If it's a big yee haa engine then prolly would but then you'd be using better rods as well.

Thank You Gentlemen. Feeling quite confident reusing the old bolts now.
 
 Got the crankshaft out letting loose the camchain from the camshaft and disconnecting the conrods with O-rings holding on to the bolts not allowing them to fall into the upsidedown pistons which are siting untouched in the barrels with the top on.
It´s allmost to easy. I could do this every Friday :)
 
 Letting loose the Firestorm tomorrow if the wheather gets any less rainy.
