oil seal ?

This is probably a stupid question but For the oil seals that are positioned between the two crank halfs, are you guys using a sealer around the oil seals or are they just "pinched" between the two halfs? TIA

Not sure which oil seals you're talking about (ones for the crank shaft or by the transmission) but I install them all dry. I use OEM seals. Some people use Hondabond or equivalent, can't do any harm as long as you only use a very thin coat.

I'm not quick when closing case halves so I don't want to use a hardening sealer and have it set before it's squeezed by the cases.

those are the exact ones I am talking about.  I pulled the motor and the washer that was on the main transmission shaft the covers the needle bearing and the oil pump bearing had a liquid gasket applied to it

I also install them dry. Did a 750F and used Hondabond on the Countershaft Seal. It caused it to pop out when assembling the cases. I can't recall ever reading any manual that says to put a sealant on a case seal.

I didn't think so and cant find an area in the manual that mentions how to install the seals
