Pearl white is def. not an option for this bike.
I am not a fan what so ever of that color, on caddy's and especially on a bike.

My issue is that I want something different than simple black, but I don't wanna be riding a
carnival bike either. I need to find something that falls in-between the two.

C'mon man...that Caddy pearl and some 22" spinners would really set it off.

Definitely the teal.
The same teal as my car ?
I don't see that working out on this project...

Not that colour. Much darker. I tried to post a swatch but it was rejected. Go to paint and input these parameters:
Hue: 120
Sat: 240
Lum: 44
Red:0
Green: 94
Blue: 94
It looks a bit dull but would be fine if glossy and especially in a metallic.

Def. not gonna paint the bike teal, thats certain.
Maybe I should just leave the tank the way it is, and spraybomb the seat and h.lite bucket flat black and call it a day ?

Hey PT,
Your bike might look kind of cool in teal with the white walls to match the car. Maybe a white seat? If behind the seat the fiberglass kind of came up into a rudder with a slim vertical taillight. Now that would be cool!

If I ever own a bike with white walls it is gonna be a HD Roadking  ;D
I wanna keep the bike vintage/cafe/race/tracker/etc as much as possibile.

Maybe I should just sand the tank and spraybomb everything with some low gloss blue or green paint ...?

The CB450 cafe racer is quite unique and my vote goes towards not-so-common brown color that will compliment the bike. Ford calls the Crown Vic "Arizona beige" or perhaps a Honda brown.

Def. not gonna be brown of any kind.
I never liked that color, nor the champagne/pewter color either (my opinion).

I am leaning towards something similar to the bike below (from 2006 Mods Vs. Rockers show)
I could paint the seat and h.lite bucket gloss black, and do the tank black with some sorta gloss red inlay/graphic ? Or switch the gloss black to flat and keep the red gloss for contrast ?

Who the hell knows... ::)

definately bang in some knee dents (or cut and weld whatever is your preference) and paint the dents color and the rest of the tank black, gloss black though.  that is a good look and this look more than the others, will slim down the tank profile and appearance.
keep posting pics and good luck

How about a bright orange? with black and white checkers down the center of the tank? I always thought that looked racey! 8) 8)

Orange was a option early on, but I don't want this bike to look like an amusement park ride.
I am bring very pick (paint wise) to insure I get across the racer/tracker/vintage feel I am going after.
And I for one DO NOT dig the checkerboard stripes that everyone puts on their bikes. If any graphics go on this bike it is gonna be
either a factory Honda graphic, or something with the same feel..

I am really leaning towards gloss black with some sorta gloss red graphic/panel/etc on the tank.
But as I said before, I am not gonna do anything until I am 100% with my decision...

I agree, I painted mine black and was going to go back with some kind of stripe but never came up with anything. It looks great all black so I'm leaving it.

I agree, thus the gloss black re-paint of the CB750 this winter.
With all the different types of spraypaint I used on that bike it looked it's best with the gloss.
The headlite bucket - new tank nd sidecovers have a date with the bodyshop once I get the CB450 done..

Still unsure of what color the CB450 will be wearing come spring.

As of 1/17/06 the CB450 project is staying just the way it is.
Gonna keep the stock tank the way it is, and the h.lite and seat will get a few coats of
low gloss black spraypaint.

Thanks for all the input !

What are you having done at the body shop? If you spray can a gloss black and try to keep it from getting scratched, you might as well forget it. You could spray can something with the best stuff in the world and rub it with the softest cloth you can buy and it will look like satan black!! If you want shiney deep gloss black, take it too a body shop and use a urethane paint. you will be much happier.
The thing about common sense is that, it's not that common.

I am gonna spray the seat and h.lite bucket myself, in my garage, with Dupli-color low gloss engine enamel.
No body shop , no pro paint job, no extra money spent on this bike that doesnt need to be..
