Ken...the grass turns brown and goes dormant. Revives in the spring...
I would have thought the roots would freeze and die.
There your go. I've learnt something . cheersJohnie

It snowed in Austin for the second time in a month.  Has Hell frozen over?

Currently 23* out, a little too cold for my annual New Years Day ride, plus the brain has not recovered from last night yet!   Maybe start Drinkin?!

If it is that cold down south, you can imagine what its like in the north! -12ºF this morning in the Milwaukee suburbs. This cold spell needs to end! My heated & insulated garage is only 44º and I have to run the propane heater for short spells to make it tolerable to work in.

OK, back to lapping 550 valves.

Fifteen below this morning in northern IN. I was just able to get the vehicles started for us to go to work. This time I don't think pining for southerly residence would even be much better.

Here in central WI it is just like the last few years...snowmobile trails are still closed. Snow is sparse here. Have to go up north if you want to sled.

I got passed by a Polaris snowmobile yesterday, well, it was a Polaris trike, but you can see where their design came from. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

We are stalking a local cold weather record:
most consecutive days without reaching 20F.
The current record is 11 days, today is our tenth day, and the weatherman says that colder is coming!

When/if we break the record, I want a medal, certificate, prize money, 12 days vacation at some tropical place with palm trees, beaches, Honda rental, snorkeling, fishing, and a guarantee that the thermometer won't drop below 80F or exceed 90, okay?

Wow cool pic there Bob. You guys on the east coast are getting quite a storm. Here in central WI we can still see grass sticking up in spots. Still no snowmobile trails open unless you go north. Bummer for those guys. Sold my sleds a few years ago.

Your on the wrong side of the pond Johnie. Plenty of snowmobile action on this side. I can't walk between my bushes off the back porch sidewalk right now but the dog can scoot through  ;D ;D. Sunny and 15 here today, heat wave, but 35 miles west they are getting big snow off  Lake Michigan. Its all about the wind direction for us lake effect people. Might be 30 here soon- WHOOO HOOO  Eric

I have a daughter that lives on the east side of Michigan in Merrysville. I always dread the drive in the winter because it is ALWAYS snowing around Kalamazoo!! Lake effect snow does happen here but prevailing winds mean Michigan generally gets it. Probably not a bad trade off for the spectacular coast line and beaches. Love doing laps around Lake Michigan on the bike.

Think its going to be a snowy one this year. Here in Southern CT its hit or miss. Got a chance to break out the new snowblower though! Made quick work of 1 1/2 ft drifts... Bob

When Lake Erie freezes over the snow might ease up.

That is freaky! I've experienced that while skiing in Utah a few years ago.

Scary hot day here today, will be well over 100 deg F and very windy. No riding, and watching out for bushfires. Cool change coming in tonight, and riding weather again from tomorrow, woohoo! ;D
