Scary hot day here today, will be well over 100 deg F and very windy. No riding, and watching out for bushfires. Cool change coming in tonight, and riding weather again from tomorrow, woohoo! ;D

Terry,

We are having a heat wave in Syracuse it is a balmy 4 degrees Fahrenheit

Ha ha, well right now I'd be happy to donate half of our top temp to the good folks of Syracuse mate, it's a scorcher! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

What a swing in temps we are going to have this next week in WI. Got to -9 last night and temps are to swing to 36 above next week. Will be rather balmy here :)  But then back to the deep freeze again.

Big swing here too.  At the Austin airport a few nights ago, it got down to 15*, a record low for that day.

Today it is up to a wonderful 63*... a difference of 48 degrees

Bill the demon.

Bill, we have had a winters worth of cold and the season is only a few weeks old.
I saw -8f on the back porch this morning and we have made our record:
12 consecutive days not reaching 20F
The temp is supposed to ease today with snow returning.
I have been watching the lakes shipping a bit, there are still a number of ships out/stuck at Mackinaw and Soo needing icebreaker assistance. Welland canal is closed, they needed three tugs and steam generators to free a ship stuck in a lock at the StLawrence Seaway.

Here is a picture of Georgian Bay for you. North Channel frozen but Georgian Bay and Lake Huron still open.
