how often do you disassemble your petcock and strainer for maintenance?

I never did a clean my K6 stock tank, petcock.  But that was under a 11 years period. (Now really dirty with fuel left from 1990)
Another thing if the tank has got dirt in it. The fuel it has got might be clean or have particles clogging up the filter.

Decades of use or no use might make the tank to rust that flakes off. If you see dirt inside tank, clean it and the petcock.
