Bike Insurance for Modified CB750
« on: May 24, 2018, 09:45:40 AM »
Hey All,

While I'm waiting for info from my insurance, I'm curious what others experiences are with regards to insuring their Hi Performance Modified Vintage Bikes.

So if my CB750 was wiped off the face of the earth by a thief or an accident.....it would probably take over $10K to produce the same machine if you add up parts and labor.  Yes...I know their are deals out there, but it's worth more than a standard CB750.

Anyone had good experience with insuring a bike for a pre-determined value?  My insurance agent is looking into whether they can value it like an antique car which they do pretty routinely.

Feh.....Insurance says no special treatment.  But I can save receipts and try to claim if the worst happens.

You can try someone like Hagerty with agreed value insurance. They are always at bike shows repping their coverage for modified bikes. I don't want to imagine covering my bikes.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

Progressive agreed upon value is fine.  It's not a bad idea to save receipts, too.

So progressive will work with you on a specified value?  I'll have to give them a call...

Hagerty is really good with this, have it on my bike and price is still very low. There's a milage limit but they do not check.

I have agreed upon value with Progressive as well. Not terribly expensive.

I go through them in connection with USAA.  I don't know if my Progressive rates are any better with that association but the service is good.
