Can anyone tell me how much of the polar Ice caps are under water?

Water expands 9% when frozen, and the majority of the polar ice caps are under water. Tell me how the earth will flood if they melt.

Mickey, your comment made me think of this somehow. I agree there should be more investment into this resource.

The Shamwow guy actually is in prison for destroying some hookers face. He said he paid her for some straight sex then he was going to kiss her and she bit his tounge and wouldn't let go so he mangled her face.

Almost all of the continent of Antarctica is covered by a sheet of ice 1 mile thick. If this melts it will flow into the ocean raising the sea level.

It's a common misconception that most of the ice is under water. In all actuality if the ice caps melt, the combination of so much "liquid" ice and the rising temperatures required to melt all that ice, will completely overrun the water systems. i.e. rivers, streams, lakes, etc. Then add the fact that most of this newly found "liquid" ice wont refreeze in the winter months... and flood levels will never really go down.

At least that's how they explained it when I was in college.
