True story:

In high school, I was dating this very fun, beautiful young lady from a well to do family. On occasion, I would go pick her up for a date in my '68 Firebird and like a lot of girls, she would not be ready to go.
Her father, a wealthy business owner, would chat with me while I was waiting and offered me shots of Drambuie, which I happily accepted!
Didnt think much of it at the time, but looking back now, her Dad gave me booze before I was going to drive his daughter out for a date!!! Doubt that happens much these days...RIP Van, you were a good Man!

PS. I did wreck said Firebird near their home during a thunderstorm one day but she was not with me at the time.

Things are definitely different these days. The father of my date for the senior prom rented a brand new Camaro and handed me the keys to the car and the key to a hotel room. I was stunned, he told me have fun and take care of his daughter.

Dredged that trailer out of a brackish pond. A particularly ornery bass had taken up residence in the fender that i had to fight it off with a detailers mitten before i could claim my maritime salvage rights.

Got damn! This place is still open!? Just stopped by for a quick drink and see some of the usual suspects are still hanging about. Yes, I still have my CB in a corner of my garage and still have my Harley trike, but haven't been out on either since getting a liver transplant back in May 2018. Oh! And kids! I have 3 boys now! The oldest was born in 2011 and my twins came along in 2015. My youngest boy is now eyeing my CB. And I started them young! They all have electric mini-bikes. Finally starting to feel normal again and maybe come Spring I can get out and find a job and get back to riding. It’s been some journey, these last 5 years and I’m saddened to see we’ve lost a few more members like Bob & Frank. RIP boys! So raise a glass you SSDB Bastards! 🍻 Who knows, maybe in a few years there’ll be a Damfino Jr. on here looking for advice on getters his old man’s 750 up & running. Take care for now!

Thanks Franken & Stev-o, yeah I had cirrhosis but from NASH, not drinking. So I still get to imbibe a little, as long as I don’t drink like I used to in my younger days. 👍🏻
