To/Too/Two (pick one) many people don't know what brakes/breaks to/too/two apply. I'm sure I have seen this at least to/too/two times. ::)

Yep, I taught photography at the college level, frequently needed to explain the difference between to, too and two.

Pretty good deal on this 550 too...

I'm always skeptical of these ads with one picture, perfect bike and low price. Usually ends up to be a phishing scam.

C'mon Eric, give the guy a brake!

The cult followers are the folks who believe what the seller is saying, because, well hey, that person owns the bike and was cool enough to buy it, so...

Don't believe Stev-o, he's just having you on. That bike belongs to a member here that several of us (including me) know personally.

Stev-o is just being a wise guy saying its a scam because he knows who the seller is. That ad is for Tews19's bike and it is legit.

Yeah, the fake ads do usually have bad syntax and lack specific descriptions. Nice bike!

Yes, I was just joking around.   It's a good bike, Nick is selling as he just bought a 750.

Lol post

A real story to share

Saw a listing really really clean CB550 looked amazing but pictures colours, tones and a car parked behind the bike was from 70s. Asked the seller how does it look, response was “look at the pictures “.

Got there and no comparison of bike and photos and then found out photos were taken few weeks after he bought the bike new and it was his fathers Dodge in the background so yes “looked showroom condition when it was in showroom “

Cheers

Bonham's (yes that august auction lot) are at it too. They have an ex Boet Van Dulmen TZ500 up for auction in 'As last raced' condition . Err no, I don't think anyone would race a bike in the condition shown in the photos.

Have a look : https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/24885/lot/450/

Old nail more like.

I'm not sure I agree. That looks like a bike that has been raced to me.

It sorta look to me like it could have just been parked at the end of a race season.

I think too many bikes get overly cleaned up for photo shoots.

Unfortunately someone took the transmission and clutch according to the add. Might be tough to find that get up.

Facebook marketplace, when I get there,
It was my dad's bike but he died a couple years ago so it hasn't been ridden since then and I put it in the garage. Then the garage fell down and we got it out of there and somebody put it under the walnut tree. I hurt my back and can't move it back into the new,,,, garage.  1998 registration under the seat.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
If you love it, set it free, if it stays it's probably one of my 750's.

This ad in my local CL made me laugh...

"This 1978 Honda CB750F SuperSport harkens back to an era when every Harley came with a drip pan and a coupon for a bowling ball."

"Can you help me sell it? Sure! Just overnight me $10,000 cash and when you find a buyer I'll sign the bike over to them. Will I ship it? Sure, just overnight me $20,000 cash with shipping instructions. In both cases the remittance must be in $20 bills, Jacksons face up, alternating the picture right side up, upside down. The cash must be in hermetically sealed jars. A fifth of Johnny Walker Odyssey would be a nice addition, and a sure sign of your sincerity. For those of buying in person, it is a screaming deal at $3,000."

Football is huge in Texas and the rivalry game against Oklahoma is very popular.

Seems all the bikes are priced higher than other parts of the country except maybe California!

I paid $1800 for mine in southern Illinois last year. Pretty much the same condition other than the original paint and seat. My tank was rattle canned, seat has a cover, and is cleaner. Same mileage. I stripped the paint and used gas resistant industrial enamel.

Probably, but if you don't ask the high price then you won't get a high price.

It doesn't say if it is ready to ride. If it is then the price still high, but a good starting point for negotiations.
