Some of my warning lights didn't work, the reason was clearly age related, replacements were not available apart from overpriced replica boots which woud have involved removing all connectors etc to assemble. As I have some hobby CNC machinery I came up with the following solution which might be of interest. First off I removed the old boots and cleaned up as best as possible the corrosion. Without disassembly the holders were pickled in an acid bath to remove the old plating and rust. Next, into the zinc plating tank and passivation, so far so good as the holders now looked new. I designed a similar looking replica boot in 2 parts made from 3mm ABS (DXF files attached) and after about 15 minutes machining its time for assembly using acetone to bond the joints. As the original boots had the push in part still flexible I cut that part off and slid it over the bulb holder. I now have a visually similar and more importantly working light cluster. The attached photos show the whole proceedure.
