CB750 routing of main section of harness at front tank cushion - over or under?

I did a lot of searching but didn't find a definitive answer or picture. A couple of diagrams I found appear to route it over the cushion which is the way I've always done it. It seems like it would be easier to mount the tank if the harness is routed under the cushion but then the harness doesn't seem to go into the bucket as far. Any thoughts?

Stock is left side over the tank mounting rubber.  I have tried it below the tank rubber but changed it back as it made too much in the way for the throttle cables.
