‘76 cb550f kick start wiring
« on: April 11, 2019, 01:17:26 PM »
Hello all, I’m trying to strip down the harness for my 1976 cb550f to only what is necessary. The bike is a kick only as the starter isn’t working. I like it this way but was hoping to simplify the wiring a bit, especially since I’m running an m-unit. Can I skip the solenoid in this scenario? Any other tips? Thanks in advance.

Correct, you do not need the starter solenoid for kick only.

Yes, you can remove it if you want. Just make sure to properly route the connection from the alternator to the battery and the battery to the ignition switch

Thanks! Could you expand on this process a bit? I’m using an m-unit and want to make sure I’m not making any mistakes..

Try this- you can omit the parts and pieces you don’t want...

Also, there’s a forum section devoted to MotoGadget stuff  ;)

Thanks!
