fellas I gotz a leak looks like it coming from front of chain,, where it meets the sprocket but I cant tell see pictures plus I’m getting some oil residue on the back tire left sidewall?

runs very good no issues except that. Chain oiler? ???

I just blocked off my oiler with a short piece of wood dowel when I switched to x-ring chain. No mess no mo'.

could be the chain oiler but who knows? unless you pull that sprocket cover and clean the case underneath...better make sure you don't have one of those good old broken chain case cracks...also could be caused by a bad countershaft seal

Close it up, cleanup and see what happens. If the problem is elsewhere, you’ll know soon enough!

If you cant find your problem check your neutral switch. Mine was leaking about the same place. Had to replace the o ring.

What chain, and where did you get it, please?

To the op, there are ways to block that off, just can't remember where I read about it.

To the op, there are ways to block that off, just can't remember where I read about it.

Don't remember. I think mine is an EK and my wife's is an RK. We both have press-on master links with a keeper but most chain makers seem to be tending toward rivet links. For that you'd need a tool. Don't let the price deter you. My wife's chain has close to 20k miles on it and has never been adjusted. Mine has 15k or so (I think) and has been adjusted only twice - 1 flat each time. Just look online. There's a million places to buy one.
I plugged my oiler by pulling the front sprocket and plugging the oil hole in the countershaft with a piece of wood dowel. The sprocket keeps it in place.
If you buy a new chain, put on sprockets too. You'll be set for years of riding. I just squirt some chain wax on every few hundred miles and clean with kerosene once a year using a Grunge Brush.

My chain (regular w/link) and sprockets have only a few hundred miles on them. Just been sitting for the last few years.
