Picked up a BEATER 88 vlx600.
Wanted to have something to ride so i could take my no title 74 550 i was riding down for parts.
Not sure what im going to do with this yet other than throw a good battery in it and adjust the floats.

Well like most of you I can't leave well enough alone. So I'm not riding it yet. Making a few changes to suit my self and style better. As of now going to put a 21 front on I've had laying around, strut it low and exhaust.

Got 2 pipes bent up at the loval exhaust shop for 20 bucks.
Picked up the adapters to make it bolt on to the head pipes for ease of removal later if needed. Stopped at Rural King today amd picked up 2 rain caps @ 6.99 each.
Also picked up a few bolts nuts and washers to make a lolipop baffle.

Threw the exhaust on today made baffles amd MESSED up. Exhaust tubing expander broke so had to flip a adapter.... Well i forgot to cut to make up for the added length. Added 4in.
Fix it another day.
Might go back outside if the little ones allow daddy to go.

Fixed the even bends. Went to throw the 21 i had laying around on it thinking the VLX had a 17mm axle.. I was wrong it was 20mm. So 20mmx35mmx9mm is not the most common bearing. Finally found one place that had them under 20 bones a pc. Placed the order

Got my bearing in today. 20mmx35mmx9mm
Hopefully I'll catch a break in the rain and throw them in. I'll make up some spacers this weekend depending on the rain.

Got home from work swapped out the bearings real quick and threw the 21 on so I could get measurements to make spacers when I get time.


And the more I look at it the more I hate that Riser handlebar combination on this bike.

Won my ebay bid. Got a 180 80 r15 car tire for 20 bones.

But this again.
Made spacers for the front wheel swap. Made my mono strut and welded a bushing in slightly crooked so habe to file a groove for the bolt to cooperate.

Mono strut is made from bushings i cut from the factory monoshock. Some tractor end link parts all welded together.
Its about 9 3/4 inches eye to eye. TJ Brutal Customs sells a 70 or 80 dollar strut thats 9 inches.
This one cost me about 11 bucks. And 3 rods.

Took ot for a maiden ride around with the 21 exhaust and strut. For some reason the start button quit working and the exhaust drags the ground after the first bump or 2. Good make a bracket to structure the long pipes. Got my car tire in today for it. Got walked out of my job this morning for puttingnthe wrong supervisors job as risk when they screwed me over. So needless to say was too busy to mess with the bike today.

Been busy in life. Since getting walked out I've beem brought back. Union is fighting for my backpay.
Found a new job finishing the obline class for it this weekend amd going to take my cert test next week.
As long as I pass that I start there in 2 weeks. Vacation at the plant the week after next and used most of my vac days next week.
Also
Fighting for a local promotions 147lb ammy title next saturday. Stepping up 3 weight classes.

Tried a little painting experiment on I like how it turned out I'm going to redo it and flip the colors to have black as the backdrop and also get it done a little cleaner.

Welded a bracket for the exhaust today. Went to the doc and checked in at the gym. Another busy day tomorrow. Battery in the VLX is done. Luckily they are that same CCA as the CB batteries I have laying around. So its getting a taller battery.

My oldest son helped today.
We took the back wheel off.
Removed the tire and then cleaned the wheel up.
Letting the pool silicone cure in the heat to seal itm hopefully tomorrow putting the car tire on.

Got the tire on last night.
Seated the bead at the local tire shop this morning.
After a few hours and some family stuff i went back out and got alittle done. Front mounts for the rear fender done. Now for fender struts.

Started a new job in life insurance. After 10 years at the plant being walked out on retaliation of a supervisor was my last draw. Union got my job back. Plant saod in order for me toncome back i needed to sign in agreeance with punishment that was there originally. Lost back pay for time off. Decided it was time to search for greener pastures.

First day off I had a interveiw for a life insurance company that a good friend works at.
Took the job. Long days getting started up. Hoping for the big payoff.

so far finished my first 28 days in a aream sunday starts a new area. averaging 12 hours a day 6 days a week ive made a total of about 400 bucks.....

I see lots making it great there but I'm not.
No time for anything but work sleep and worrying how I'm going to keep the lights on.
