Low Mile '77 400F survivor
« on: June 18, 2019, 08:57:22 am »
Picked this up upon returning from Florida. I purchased this off the original owner. I'm currently in the process of cleaning it up. Tank looks brand new inside and out. Luckily the owner saved everything including the sales brochures. He had a collection of 125,200, 360 and this 400. The 400 is the last one to leave. This summer the bikes have been everywhere.

Keeper or a flipper ?

As of now my wife likes it a lot as she can touch the ground. Also my youngest is getting into riding and I gave him a 72 750 for his first bike. So maybe this will finally become a family affair of riding??? I don't know to be honest.

One dilemma with a bike that nice and less then 900 miles is do you pickle it and preserve it or ride it.  Wish I had that problem to deal with.  Great example to take around to the shows.

Damn. it's a 77 but still, holy #$%*. That's cool. I would buy those panniers for my 400 if you don't want them. They're cool.

That is another perspective I've taken into consideration. We have the vintage races next month at Road America.

Jakec, what are panniers? The luggage system?

What a nice vintage find Lews.. clean it up , ride it , show it and enjoy.  Extremely low mileage examples are a lucky grab . Enjoy!

Yeah! the luggage. I have only seen a 400F set once before for sale here on the forum. I think they're sweet. I'd have to paint them blue though ;)

Those are similar to the Shoie bags I put on my 550

Hi!

Since this is an unrestored bike, would it be possible for you to post pictures of the cables and wires routing around the headlight / triple-tree area?

That would be really helpful.

Too good and new to be used except a few daily rides to meets and shows?
Museum standard. It is not a restored bike, all original!
Lets hope you'll get a good price for it. The buyer must be happy, old low mile bikes as this in as new condition can't be that common

Well, I know it's been used as a fuel, or a fuel additive, pretty much since internal combustion engines have driven cars - but I don't know when the current ubiquitous 10% in pump gas started.  Non-ethanol gas is very difficult to get near me...
